Casa Quetzal is a delightful property on a large lot with comfortable living space both inside and out. Inside the privacy wall, a vine covered archway leads to a lush interior garden brimming with exotic tropical plants and colorful blooming flowers. Bright red hibiscus and yellow copa de oro (cup of gold) blossoms adorn the manicured garden. Fruit juicy limes dangle from tree branches. Ahhh, this must be paradise!

A large swimming pool tucked in the corner of the pleasant backyard features oversize Mexican pots from which water spills gently into the pool. A palapa near the pool is a perfect gathering spot for a cup of coffee in the morning or an ice-cold cervesa in the evening. Toss a couple of burgers or steaks on the built-in BBQ and enjoy a hearty meal in the great outdoors. Divers will appreciate the outdoor shower and rinse tank area.

Inside the front door in the entry area is a bar and 4 stools, hand carved from gnarled wood. Living room is furnished with rattan sofas and chairs in vivid blue; TV, VCR and stereo are provided for your entertainment pleasure.

Dining room seats 6 at the carved glasstop wood table with matching rustic stle chairs with green upholstered cushioned chairs. There's a desk in this area; bring your laptop and hook up to the internet and surf the internet or send e-mails to the poor souls back home; you'll also find a telephone for local calls.

Quetzal, named for the sacred bird of Mexico, uses a bird theme throughout the property, including the ceramic tile in the kitchen, furnishings and artwork. Full kitchen has all that you need to prepare a complete meal or simple snacks. You'll save a few bucks by doing a couple of meals on your own, but don't miss the opportunity to sample the terrific restaurants on the island!

Two bedrooms are beyond the kitchen. First bedroom has a king size bed (can be split into two twins upon request) and uses the bath located off the hall. Master bedroom has king bed, private bath with tub and shower, phone and views of the palapa area.
