Akumal and Tankah–
Casa San Francisco
(at left): This a gem! It's a 3 BR (studio can be used as 4th BR), 3 full baths. Casa San Francisco is located in the popular South Akumal area. Located on a sandy beach, this property is very roomy and decorating is delightful! Guests will be incredibly comfortable in this vacation villa. Rate for this one is $2550 for high season/$2250 for low season (holiday rates higher). Designed for couples and families. It can accommodate a maximum of 8 with 2 queen beds, 2 twin beds, a double futon; an additional single and portacrib are available. Two bedrooms have ocean views and the third looks into the garden. The large roof terrace gives spectacular views over the Caribbean sea to the east and the lush jungle of Quintana Roo to the west. You'll love the terrace at sunrise and sunset, and for private sunning. Since this one is new to the rental inventory, it is available for Christmas and New Year's!

Casa Cascada: This newly built oceanfront villa is reaching completion. Casa Cascada is an impressive 2-story villa on Half Moon Bay. The large private villa has 4 bedrooms, 4.5 baths and can accommodate up to 10 guests. Bedding includes 3 kings and 2 queens. This expansive property has interesting design features with use of arches, adobe brick detailing and decorate tile. Superb ocean views are offered from many areas, including the living room, dining areas, balconies, some bedrooms and from the rooftop observation area. Weekly rate for this vacation villa is $3300 high season, $2200 low season.

Casa de Suenos (at right): Casa de Sueños is a very new and very special villa in Akumal. The name, Casa de Sueños, means "House of Dreams" and is very appropriate. Located on the Caribbean with incredible views. From the villa and your private swimming pool you'll have views of the stunning Caribbean coastline, aquamarine ocean, and a small uninhabited island. This house has charm, beauty and unbelievable privacy. Sueños is a short walk to 2 of area restaurants and to the well known Yalku Lagoon where you can snorkel in sparkling water with beautiful tropical fish. This lagoon is also just a short swim from the private beach at Casa de Sueños.

Sueños has 3 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, an interesting circular living room overlooking the ocean. There is also a covered porch (complete with table and chairs for outdoor dining); the porch is off the living room with a pass through from the kitchen. Bedding includes 2 kings, 2 doubles, 1 queen sleep sofa, sofas. Weekly rate is $3300 high season, $2200 low season.

Jade Moon Villas (left): Located on Jade Beach between Akumal and South Akumal this is a terrific property for a large group! It as a total of 7 bedrooms, 7 baths. Actually 3 separate properties, they may be booked individually or as one large property. Emerald Moon and Ruby Moon each has 3 BRs, 3 baths, full kitchen, living room and dining room. These villas are located side by side on the ocean, and yes, there is a sandy beach. A large swimming pool and courtyard area is between the oceanfront Emerald Moon and Ruby Moon villas The Pearl Moon Guesthouse. The guesthouse is a second floor bungalow overlooking the garden pool area.

Emerald and Ruby Moons can each accommodate 6 guests (with 2 kings, 2 twins); Pearl Moon can accommodate 2 (1 king). Maximum occupancy is 14 guests.

Weekly rate for the entire property is $6400, high season; $4100, low season. See Jade Moon web page for rates on individual properties.

Villa Playa Azul: A 3 BR 2-story beachfront villa located in the Tankah area, this villa can accommodate 6 guests (bedding is 2 queens and a king). This villa has a great sandy beach and lots of hammocks. Designed to take advantage of the views of the sea and the jungle as well, the second story terrace with thatched roof is the spot to be for sunsets and sunrises. Comfy hammocks are ready and waiting for you on the upper terrace and on the first level oceanfront patio as well. Jump in one of the two sea kayaks and take a spin along the coast; maybe pop into the beachfront Casa Cenote restaurant/bar for a snack or a cool refreshment. Try snorkeling in the cenote just across the road from the restaurant. Lounge on the beach or visit the Mayan ruins at nearby Tulum. Mariposa Azul is a good base for our tropical vacation. Rate for the Mariposa Azul is $2300 high season, $1500 low season and it is available for Christmas and New Year's!

And in Cozumel . . .

So New–No Name! Here's a new 4 BR, 2 bath home with an excellent location in Cozumel. Located less than 3 blocks from the ocean, this property has 4 BRs. There are two bedrooms on the first level, two on the second and an upper loft area that could be used for a 5th bedroom. Each floor has a full kitchen, dining room and one bath. There are several small patio/balcony areas. This property is so new, it doesn't have a name and we couldn't take interior photos because owners did not yet have their new furniture. Price is right on this one, at only $900. Property can sleep 8-10.
