Casa Ogletree, a spacious 5 bedroom two story villa located in San Miguel just six blocks from the ocean. This air conditioned property has plenty of room for a large group (up to 10). All bedrooms have king size beds, there are two TVs (satellite), and there are even two full kitchens. Very clean, bright and tastefully decorated, this property shares a large swimming pool with the Casa Sheridan and Jordan properties. Divers will like the outside freshwater showers and rinse tanks. Villa Selva, Casablanca
and Casa Roo Improvements

Villa Selva and Casablanca are our two most popular 2 B.R., 2 bath villas (each has private swimming pool, cable tv, vcr, cd player, telephone). Until recently, just the bedrooms were air conditioned in the properties. Now, however, both are fully air conditioned. We also have added new curtains/drapes/bedspreads.

Casa Roo, our 3 B.R. with private swimming pool, cable tv, vcr, cd player, telephone, is fully air conditioned, too. This one was recently remodeled and the villa has a completely different look. A patio door and window now face the pool area, and the kitchen/dining/living room has an open feeling, with plenty of light with the addition of more windows. Kitchen was totally redone and moved to a different area.

We put the finishing touches on our Casa Roo while we were on the island in July/August. The property looks SO different; we really like it, we hope our guests will, too. Check the new photos of the Casa Roo.

Mini Golf
It's inexpensive, it's good family fun and it's a great activity for an evening when you'd like to catch the breeze on the hill where the course is located. It's easy to find on 15th Ave. and Calle 1 right next to the water tower.

The course is challenging with lots of water traps and plenty of rocks and sloping areas. You can expect to spend about an hour or hour and a half to get through the entire 18 holes. Adults and children will enjoy the experience. You'll find many local families with their children for an evening of mini golf.

The mini golf course, open since 1998, is owned and operated by a young American couple (Sally and Scott) who live onsite. Course is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Time Change
Cozumel time change went into effect early August 1998 and is now on Central Standard Time. They had not too long ago changed to Eastern Standard Time, but the local people did not like the change, and after many meetings they agreed to set the time back. Eastern Standard Time did cause somewhat of a problem for the dive operators because it wasn't dark until 9:30 or so, making for really, really long days when night dives were scheduled. Boats wouldn't come back until almost midnight, and the divemasters and boat captains begin their day early in the morning getting ready for the morning dives.

Cozumel Internet Access
There are several places where you can get internet access in Cozumel if you don't bring your own computer along. The Diamond Cafe Bakery on 15th Avenue and Calle 1 has one computer. Another spot is Coffee Net, located on the oceanfront road and Calle 11, just across from Acuario and Lobster Cove Restaurants (in same building as Neptuno Disco). When we were there they had eight machines online with a number of different browsers as well as printers (black and white and color) and even a scanner. You can check your e-mail (through Netscape, AOL, Hot Mail, among others). Rate is not bad at 35 pesos per half hour, 60 pesos an hour (exchange rate in early August was 8.75 pesos to a dollar). Only a peso or two for each document you print (black and white). Open seven days a week, Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Sunday 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. If you go to Coffee Net, e-mail us!

The area is remote, but development is on the way. They've recently completed the road they'd been working on the past couple of years, getting there is getting easier!

The 4 B.R., 3 bath two-story villa that we have in Xcalak offers many amenities you wouldn't expect to find in an area this remote. The owner has taken much time and trouble to make the property comfortable for guests (solar power electricity, hot water heater, frig, stove, TV/VCR). The villa Cielos Azules (blue heaven) is located right on the beach with lots of sand and plenty of palm trees.

Activities in the area include snorkeling, diving, fishing and doing absolutely nothing at all. There’s a ferry to Chetamal three times a week, if you want to check out that area.
