If you need to call someone, go to one of the calling stations; there are many. We've used one on 3rd and 5th on the oceanfront road. You can make long distance calls and also connect to the internet.

Do NOT use the red phones that you see everywhere on the island. These are VERY, VERY expensive and you will regret it!

Some cell phones will work, but don't count on it. You can stop at one of the TelCel offices located throughout town if you have a cell phone; in some cases your phone might be activated.


If you are staying in a private rental villa, you can make LOCAL calls and RECEIVE local or long distance calls. Some properties offer free long distance calls to the US and Canada.

Yes, you can check your e-mail in Cozumel! There are internet cafes all over the place!

English speaking AA Services
12 step recovery programs that are currently available. All groups meet in the same location, Ave 10 corner of Calle 5 south, Centro, climb up the spiral iron stairs, first apartment. Large "AA" logo on outside of building.

AA 6 pm Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat & Sun
NA ( Narcotics) 6 pm Tues & Thurs
Al Anon ( Friends and Families of Alcoholics) Sat 4 pm
Coda (Codependents-Relationship Addictions) Sat 11 am.

All groups are English Speaking and are of an "open " format. Island residence and island guests are welcome.

What if something happens on the island? We post emergency numbers in the properties just in case there is an emergency. There are English speaking doctors, dentists, chiropractors, etc. on the island. There are also clinics and hospitals. Here are some handy numbers you might want to print and take along with you.
